We at Fierce Girls Cricket proudly advocate for inclusion for Women and Girls at all levels of cricket

Please have a read but more importantly show us how your club showcases inclusion by commenting below.

Your club can:

  • challenge outdated stereotypes and champion inclusion within their league;

  • inspire players, coaches, and supporters to be active allies in promoting respect and equality;

  • create safer club environments where discrimination, harassment, and violence have no place;

  • and lead by example.

Gather some changemakers from all genders and check out some ideas on creating a gender inclusive club for women and girls cricket below

1. Equal Opportunities in Participation

  • Establishing and promoting women’s and girls’ cricket teams at all levels.

  • Encouraging mixed-gender formats and competitions.

  • Ensuring women and girls cricketers have access to the same training, coaching, and facilities as men.

2. Leadership and Representation

  • Increasing female representation in leadership roles, such as coaches, club administrators, and board members.

  • Creating mentorship programs for women in cricket governance and coaching.

3. Pay and Sponsorship Equality

  • Advocating for equal pay and prize money. Not only for men.

  • Encouraging sponsorships and media coverage for women’s cricket to boost visibility and funding.

4. Safe and Inclusive Club Environments

  • Implementing clear policies on harassment and discrimination.

  • Ensuring club facilities (e.g., changing rooms, restrooms) are inclusive and suitable (eg. clean, areas for change facilities/breastfeeding, sanitary disposal units, soap) for all genders.

  • Promoting a culture of respect and inclusion through education and awareness programs.

5. Development Pathways and Support

  • Providing equal access to high-performance cricket programs and pathways

  • Schedule games and trainings at a time that suits women and girls- consider caring roles and timing. Ensure women and girls feel safe to attend.

6. Community Engagement and Role Models

  • Highlighting female cricketers as role models to inspire younger generations.

  • Running school and community programs to encourage girls to take up the sport.
