Dear fans of the Women’ s game,
I have to admit , we are getting a little bit edgy.
Here in Melbourne the sun starting to shine that little bit brighter and daylight savings is upon us which means only one thing! Cricket season is coming. For those who are still in the midst of lockdown, the end is near! Keep pushing through. It’s like you are on 99 and waiting for that single for your ton. Patients is the virtue.
In the meantime in case you missed it, the Aussie girls are gearing up to take on NZ for the first T20 International in Brisbane. The 2020 Commbank Series is sure to be a cracker! The first game begins on Saturday 26th September 1.50pm and you can watch it live on Channel 7, Foxtel, Kayo or listen on ABC radio. If you are lucky enough to live in Brisbane be sure to book your tickets early as the first game is SOLD OUT!!!
It is so pleasing to see that the media are behind this event as this is an important factor to participation in sport for young girls. You can’t be what you can’t see.
This is super important to help grow the game further and is something that Cricket Australia and us at @Fiercegirlscricket have committed to. I am super excited to see how Cricket Australia progresses our game even further. They have recently released their new female participation strategy, titled Next Innings: Accelerating Female Participation. Watch the video highlighting the strategy here.
After watching this I can’t wait to start our pre-season here in Vic. It is super hard watching clubs around Australia already playing the game we love.
Enjoy the start of the tournament on Saturday!
